Prohibited Activities & Content

This document consolidates what is not permitted on TradeGat. It applies to company profiles, products, urgent sale and urgent buy listings, sourcing requests, offers, factory records, trade service listings, messages, reviews and advertising. It sits alongside the Marketplace Rules and the Terms of Service.

• Counterfeit, replica, or otherwise trademark- or copyright-infringing goods.
• Weapons, ammunition, explosives and their components.
• Controlled substances, illegal drugs and their precursors.
• Protected wildlife, protected species products, and prohibited animal or plant material.
• Stolen goods, and goods obtained or exported in breach of the law.
• Goods that are illegal to sell or export from the stated origin, or to import into the stated destination.
• Goods subject to sanctions or export controls that the seller is not entitled to trade.

• Products, stock levels, quantities or lead times that do not exist as described.
• Reference prices, discounts or "verified savings" that were not genuinely offered.
• Photographs, videos or certificates belonging to another business or facility.
• Capabilities such as OEM, ODM or private label that the business does not actually offer.
• Duplicate or spam listings created to dominate search results.
• Sourcing requests posted with no purchasing intent, used only to harvest supplier pricing.

Claiming, implying or displaying a verification level, badge, Trust Score, certification or inspection result that has not been granted is prohibited, as is describing a sponsored placement or a membership level as verification. Verification is issued only through review; see the Verification & Trust Rules.

• Pressuring a counterparty to move payment to a personal or third-party account.
• Changing bank details mid-transaction without verifiable confirmation from the business.
• Impersonating a supplier, buyer or TradeGat staff in order to redirect a payment.
• Advance-fee, sample-fee or "clearance fee" schemes with no intention of delivering goods.
• Requests for payment through channels that hide the identity of the recipient. See the Safety Center.

• Misrepresenting your identity, company, ownership or authority to act for a business.
• Creating or modifying content for an organisation you do not belong to.
• Attempting to access another organisation's documents, offers, messages or private records.
• Creating duplicate accounts or organisations to evade suspension or reset a record.
• Interfering with the platform, its rate limits, or its verification and review processes.

Messaging, RFQ responses and reviews may not be used for unsolicited bulk marketing, contact harvesting, phishing links, malware, harassment, or content that is discriminatory, obscene or unlawful. Reviews must relate to a real completed transaction.

Advertising is separately governed by the Ad Policy. In particular, TradeGat does not accept advertising or transaction financing based on interest-bearing lending, does not allow advertising that implies verification or a better organic ranking, and does not allow a financial product to be described as Sharia-compliant, halal or riba-free unless that has actually been reviewed and approved by an appropriately qualified authority.

Content that breaches these rules can be unpublished or removed, verification levels can be withdrawn, advertising can be suspended, and accounts or organisations can be restricted or suspended. Serious cases are recorded as risk signals and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Report a listing, business or message with its TradeGat Business ID and the affected page through the Safety Center. Reports about verification claims are routed to the verification team.
